Collin Shick Shocks The Pickleball World.

The story of Shick is truly remarkable.  He was a tennis star that played at the University of NC State. Despite being an unknown player in the world of pickleball, he entered the Red Clay Florida Open as the No. 31 seed and came through the qualifier bracket to make it to the main draw. He won three qualifier matches and then proceeded to defeat several well-known players in the Sweet 16 to the Final 4, including the No. 3 seed, No. 19 seed, No. 6 seed, and No. 7 seed. He later battled Ben Johns in the finals of the tournament. Shick had Ben Johns on the edge of his toes the first match with Shick taking the win the first set of the match. Ben Johns was able to pull through outlasting Shick in the 2nd and 3rd sets of the match. Despite Shick being the No. 31 seed going in the tournament, the story of the rising pickleball star will never be forgotten. Shick's success highlights the importance of hard work and determination.
